About Us
Founder’s Story
I am Rakshit Palawat, proud owner of Karana Jewels. I'm a big time Jewelry Enthusiast and in love with the
Gemstone and Jewelry Industry. It would be correct to say that I have gemstones and gold running through my
veins. My family has been in the fine gemstone business and has deep roots in gemstone cutting, polishing and
design for more than 25 years now. We specialize in Tanzanites, Emeralds, Spinels, Garnets and other gemstones.
Before founding Karana, I was involved in the family business selling loose gemstones all over the world.
It has been a continuing journey to find my purpose in this industry and to get a deeper understanding, I left India to
pursue my undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the
prestigious Indiana University Bloomington. Furthermore to deepen my knowledge in the jewelry industry I decided
to walk down the path of earning the "Graduate Gemologist” and "Applied Jewelry Professional” degree from the
prestigious Gemological Institute of America, Carlsbad, California.

The inspiration behind my brand are the people I care the most about, MY FAMILY! It’s with their initials that my
brand gets its name. “musKAan, RAjeev, vandaNA. I dedicate my brand to them as it is their perpetual motivation
and support that I have been able to bring this brand to life.
All jewelry at Karana is hand crafted to precise measurements using our expert designers who use computer aided
designing software to manage each angle and corner of a piece of jewelry. Each step in the manufacturing process is
carefully monitored and quality controlled. We make sure every piece of jewellery is as brilliant as the next.
